REAch2 Trust Governance
From September 2015 the REAch2 Group will change from being ten separate, regional Multi-Academy Trusts and a sponsoring charity to a single Multi Academy Trust (MAT). The new Trust will be called REAch2 Academy Trust.
The move to a single MAT will make our structure simpler and more efficient. However, we place a very high value on our regional structure, and the regional MAT boards have provided an essential tier of governance between the national scope of the REAch2 Board and the individual Local Governing Body (LGB). We want to preserve this regional tier, with the regional MAT boards being replaced with regional boards.
By September, we anticipate there being 50 academies in the REAch2 family. This means we will be approaching the size that was originally set out in our business plan, and we will therefore enter a period of steady state, enabling us to focus our resources exclusively on developing the quality of academy provision.
The new organisational structure will become operational at the same time. The new structure is based on four regional teams, led by Executive Principals. This will introduce greater capacity to support schools and better integrate the education and business support teams.
We believe the new governance arrangements will support REAch2 in moving to our next stage of development.
