At White Meadows Primary Academy, approximately 37% of our pupils are eligible for Free School Meals, and the school continues to use its Pupil Premium funding strategically to support disadvantaged and underachieving students, including those specifically entitled to Free School Meals.
Our targeted use of the funding is designed to achieve the following key outcomes:
- All students eligible for Pupil Premium are supported to engage fully with a rich and varied wider curriculum, with access to the necessary resources and opportunities.
- We aim to improve progress rates for higher attaining pupils eligible for Pupil Premium, ensuring they reach their full academic potential.
- Pupils are equipped with strategies to manage challenging situations, build positive self-esteem, and make responsible behavioural choices.
- Disadvantaged pupils who also have SEND, are EAL learners, or are otherwise vulnerable, are supported to make good or better progress across the curriculum.
- We continue to focus on increasing attendance rates among disadvantaged pupils, recognising the strong link between attendance and achievement.
To support these aims, the school is proud to have a dedicated and highly skilled pastoral team, including Learning Mentors and Teaching Support Assistants. This team works effectively to nurture self-confidence, life skills, and social development in our most vulnerable children and their families.
