At White Meadows Primary Academy, approximately 37% of pupils are entitled to free school meals. The school has used its Pupil Premium funding to continue running programmes that target pupils who are disadvantaged or underachieving, as well as those specifically eligible for free school meals. The funding has been targeted to achieve the following outcomes:
- All students eligible for Pupil Premium experience a varied and engaging wider curriculum and have the resources to access it fully
- Improved rates of progress for higher attaining pupils eligible for Pupil Premium
- Pupils have a range of strategies to deal with challenging situations, have developed positive self-esteem and understand how to make good behavioural choices
- Disadvantaged pupils who are also identified SEND, EAL or are vulnerable make good or better progress
- Increased attendance
As part of our team, the school is proud to have an extensive pastoral team of highly skilled Learning Mentors and Teaching Support Assistants work extremely effectively to develop self-confidence, life skills and social skills for our vulnerable children and families.
